Red Hot Fudge

Pop one of these goodies in your mouth and your mind thinks you’re eating one of those tiny red hot cinnamon candies mixed with chocolate. The fun comes a few seconds after you swallow the fudge, when a fireburst slaps you on the back of your tongue.

To make Red Hot Fudge, follow the instructions using the base recipe. Add one teaspoon of cinnamon and a half teaspoon of ground cayenne pepper (aka ground red pepper) to the sugar/butter/milk mixture. For more heat, add another half teaspoon of the pepper. Don’t add much more cinnamon, because it can get bitter.

It’s always a hoot to watch someone’s face when they eat one for the first time. They’re all “Oh, that’s good. I like the cinnamon mixed with the chocolate.” But then that pop of heat hits and their facial expression morphs into surprise. Invariably, they all say the same thing… “Oh wow!”
